HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Please accept this hug from, er, Felger. Um. Sorry about that. Here, have a wipe.
Cats in Space!
I've been rewatching Castle recently, a couple of the standalone eps from each season. Your comment reminded me of the one where the actress playing Nikki Heat in the upcoming movie is shadowing Beckett (hiding from Creepy Beckett: "We should have a code word so we know which Beckett to kill when the clone armies attack." *g*). She mentions the ridiculous heels, and suggests they're so that everyone has to look up to her. Beckett says actually they're just because she loves 'em. :) They are ridiculously impractical, but at least they kind of acknowledged it.
As I read your post, I was thinking of the Nikki Heat episode when that actress "explained" why Beckett had those too-high heels, only to go into the comments and see that Pepper has remembered that, too! (and I really loved that episode, in so many ways!)
I had gotten out my Castle dvds and have watched a few from the first season recently--the hair change really is amazing. While I think her long hair is pretty, I really prefer the short hair--it seems more practical, to me.
a_loquita pointed out below that her hair is also getting lighter and lighter, as well as longer. So true! Obviously practicality is not an issue because 5 inch heels! :p Still fun to rewatch!
5. I think Hollywood cannot resist a movie that makes itself look good. So: Argo. (Which I do think is a very good movie. I just keep thinking about Jeff's line in the Community pilot about giving Ben Affleck an Academy Award.)
Agreed RE: Argo. A movie where Hollywood not only looks good but saves the day!? GIVE THEM ALL THE AWARDS. I did think the pacing and the drama was great all the way through. We shall see! (I totally forgot about that line from Jeff about Affleck so I had to go rewatch. Oh darn! :D )
Cool that you enjoyed Django. I can watch Walking Dead just fine (well, I only have to cover my eyes sometimes), but Tarantino's films are always horrifically violent but funny. Well, people think they are funny. I just cannot wrap my mind around that combination. I guess I'm just not cool enough to get it.
I like the idea that all the bad guys are deaf on Castle. Hmm. There's crackfic in that! Write eeeeettt. :D
*glomps you back* Yaaaaaaay! I've decided that for my sanity I have got to be better about balancing my "screen time". Work can go suck it. :D
Thank you, can't wait to find something in the mail! Late due to lateness is something I TOTALLY understand. ;) Plus, it's always nice to have one's birthday extended!
Ooh, yay Castle gif! Oh how I love Martha. Poor Kate doesn't even know what hit her. :D
It *is* fun watching the early shows and see the evolving style! I still think that the wardrobe guy has got to get over his love of turtlenecks and weird jackets for Stana. But the hair is perfect now. :)

(OK, I was super excited about Cats in Space - the whole theater was - but it was kinda lame. Saturday Night Live's Laser Cats is better. )
I had forgotten about that scene! Hey, if Stana is OK with 'em, I guess I shouldn't judge. If I were the actress, I would say, hell no. :D

I don't know about Tarantino movies generally and I haven't seen most of the Oscar-nominated films, but I really, really enjoyed Django Unchained.
