Click here to read.If Japan wants to have their citizens be proud of their country, this is not the way. This will only lead to resentment I think. This bit blows my mind

I can't read the article, BUT in response to you... Japan and many Eastern cultures have long discouraged individualism. It's hard to understand coming from a culture like ours which values individual freedom and worth over all, but the communal spirit dominates the East and the general sentiment is that one should do what is best for society as a whole.
Again, I have no idea what the article says or what Japan is proposing, but it's really not too shocking that individualism would be stifled at all.
The article was about the schools in Japan starting a new class to teach "national pride" and patriotism. I think it is good to love the land you live in, but it should not be forced, otherwise, doesn't that kinda cheapen it? It wouldn't really be real.
I know that Japan has been this way a long time, as have other cultures and countries in the East. But what blows my mind, is that they are still stuck in this mind set. I do believe in doing things for the greater good, and I think that is a wonderful thing, to not be selfish like that, and noble. But to stifle your people's individualism, in hopes of getting them to be more patriotic, that doesn't make sense. Japan's diet always says that they want to be up to par with other modern countries, but this is not the way.

I know what you mean. I know that is how it is for a lot of cultures and countries over there, including Japan and it has been that way for quite some time. It just blows my mind that they are still thinking that way, and yet they want to be a modern country.
the more opposed it is, adn the more publicity and such it gets, the more the expressive, creative people will turn out victorious. seriously. people who have a problem with other people are just bound to loose. they're just too ignorant to see that far into the future.
if yoiu tell me not to wear pink socks, i deffinatly will. just to see waht you said. the next day, you tell me not to wear them... iwill wear beige socks. they're not quite pink. right.
fucking tight ass fucks who want to dominate and conform the world into a uniform working machine.
