Not being able to speak through Clark is sooooo frustrating at times. Thankfully, Lex is a very sensitive and deductive character, and his observations are spot on ways to garner info on what he's really thinking.

Lex won't be tooo smug.... Okay he will be really really smug, but Clark won't let you hit him. (And Lex might get a lot possessive if you happen to catch sight of naked Clark, what with Lex and Clark all snuggled up on the couch. So you might lose an eye, but you have two!)

I can see what you mean about forward plot momentum.
