Kissing In A Tree 4.5

I love my boys.........!!!

Now I don't want to leave, just read and write Clex. With a side order of H/D.

Must remember to watch House!

!!!!

They got through the math portion of their afternoon with Lex’s patience intact. After all, Lex had never had to tutor before. And if he did, he’d never expect his student to giggle so much, treat his torso like a much loved teddy bear, or press his lips together in such a frustrated way at certain problems that Lex was tempted to kiss it all better.

Clark smiled at him.

That thumping in his chest was very distracting as well.

“Lex?”

“Hmm?”

“You okay?”

“Vital signs are at one hundred percent.”

“Silly. You’re still all math.” Clark shook his head, small black curls bouncing.

“Math is important.”

Why am I counting his hair curls again?

“‘Kay. But we’re all done. And you’re looking funny at me.”

Lex leaned back, eyes trying to settle on something else so he could deny this fact. His gaze settled on the stack of game boards that Clark had half-hazardly stacked on his table.

“No.”

“Uh, huh. You were.”

“I just wanted to know which game you wanted to play.”

I can’t let him think I like him too much. Even if we are boyfriends. Then he’ll think I’m weird and won’t want to be around me anymore.

Clark squinted at him like he was trying to figure something out, but it passed with the excitement of him wanting to play with toys. Lex breathed a sigh of relief inwardly and watched the other boy root between the stack and decide on a particular board game.

“Ta-da!” Clark picked up a game.

Lex read the heading.

Sesame Street Shoots and Ladders

Clark quickly raced back to the couch and jumped on it, and Lex bounced himself from the impact of the force. He spread out the board on the couch. It was all bright colors, red, purple, orange, blue, yellow, green, each swirled around the center. It had some ladders, and it also had pictures of slides that went across board. There was also a spinner.

Good. Clark needs all the practice he can get.

“Roar!” Clark beat his chest and raised his arms like a monster.

“Why are you acting like a dinosaur?” Lex asked.

“I’m not. I’m the Cookie Monster! Roar! Gimme cookies!”

Clark held up a little plastic figure and stand that had a bright blue coloring, blue fur, large figure, and large white eyes. And a big mouth with cookie bits he was chewing flying about.

“Roar! Now you pick who you wanna be.” Clark held the box.

“Um, Clark? There’s only one other figure in here.”

On the stand was a silver and green creature.

“Sorry. I chewed up Zoe and Elmo. Mommy had to throw them away.” Clark looked down guiltily.

Lex picked up the figure for closer inspection.

The silver turned out to be a trash can. Only the top half of the creature was actually showing. It was all green furred, tall and long limbed, bushy brown eyebrows, and a smooth, bald head. Which was topped by the can lid. He had a rather surly disposition, but Lex figured anyone would if they had to live in a garbage bin.

“That’s Oscar the Grouch.” Clark informed him.

“Great.”

“I woulda chewed Oscar too, but I was scared of him.”

Clark placed his piece at the place number one on the starting line, motioning for Lex to put his piece there as well.

“Sorry you have to be Oscar. But he’s really smart, and finds cool things in the trash, and has a pet worm named Slimy.” Clark tried to cheer him up.

“That’s nice.”

His dad would have called it championing the homeless, burned it, and put Lex back on track to playing his usual games of Axis and Allies. But usually without the having friends part.

Lionel would have been so mad. But Lex didn’t have to worry about his father anymore.

Clark gave him a quick kiss on the cheek and spun the wheel.

“Roar! Cookie monster goes four spaces!”

“My turn?”

With Clark’s encouraging smile, Lex spun the wheel.

He may have to be Oscar, but he certainly didn’t feel like a grouch.

I certainly owe him some tickles for this, though.
