i can completely relate on both parts. it seems like if you don't even setup that you are exclusive or not then someone gets hurt. its happened to me a few times and it always feels like getting blind-sided by something taken for granted.

when at home, its always the same routine. setup the get-together and watch it unfold. however, i think you add something fresh to the conversation. so, don't be silly, you are just overthinking that one :-)
