I'm heading out to Michigan in a couple hours for my aunt Helen's funeral. I don't think I'm necessarily dealing very well. I realised last night that it's not quite real for me as long as I don't go out to Michigan - while in NY, Helen and I never did more than exchange a few emails a year, but when I was in Michigan we spent most of our time

Trust me, lass. It'll become real no matter what you do, so you might as well do the right thing so you don't feel guilt for not going on top of what'll hit you from her loss.
