Clean in a dirty kind of way

Serafina is now clean! -er. I traipsed out to buy scouring pads, nicked WD-40 from the costume shop and sat on my front step and cleaned her. It was great; I've never felt safer in the middle of Spanish Harlem then with my baby in my hand. When really, if someone attacked me, I'd be more likely to get dirty handprints on them and spray them with WD ( Read more... )

I didn't realize about the illustrated first letter because my layout does not show that. But since you mentioned it I switched to your journal to see your layout, and yes, it does look really cool.

*grin* Isn't is cool? I love my layout...

Also, I feel like Serafina should have a big illustrated S but then also a huge F. Because otherwise I would have called her Seraphina. But I like the parallelism of the two big curvy letters....I'm weird aren't I?

Is Serafina the copper colored belt knife you wore/wear at faire?

You picked up a rapier? Did not know you owned one.

Who is the maker?
Sharp blade, rebated blade or fencing blade(epee)?
Bell or swept hilt?
Brass or Steel hilt/basket/bell?
What length blade?
Wire wrapped, leather wrapped or open wood handle?

If you re going to talk about a sword, you must really give a better description.....

Hehe. You talk like I know what I'm talking about...

A friend of a friend makes them. So handmade - combat ready, high-carbon.
Blunt edged.
Basket hilt.
Steel most of it, brass basket.
Very slightly shorter than normal rapier. Short enough that I can pull it out without it being awkward, but long enough to still be a decent rapier.
Wire.
