I love the blog Forever Young Adult, mostly because it's one of the YA book blogs that I've been following that's updated on a consistent basis. A few days ago they posted a list of things they (and the blog's readers) would like to see more of in YA lit.I got in on the action, mentioning that I wished that there were more protagonists who weren't ( Read more... )

that would be cool, movies, music, zac efron must be stopped, books, tv

Dude, speak for yourself, I'm still waiting for puberty to hit. I'm twenty-three and people still think I'm in grade school. On the other hand, I don't constantly obsess over it either, so yeah, I didn't really get why half the Jessica Darling books were about boobs when hello, give me more Marcus Flutie.

ALSO HERE IS MY PLAN FOR MY NEXT NOVEL BECAUSE IT'S NOT LIKE I DON'T HAVE 45353853849 TO WRITE ALREADY: summer camp at some overseas location, the last big hurrah for a lot of kids who have been going forever but are going to college in the fall and won't be able to come back, added angst due to the fact that a lot of the kids are international will make it harder for them to all meet up again, plus Some Big Mystery I am currently not creative enough to think of. But oh, it will come.

And just think, I haven't even started looking at the comments on that post yet.

Also also, judging you so hard right now.

I love FYA!!! And I totally agree with you about the need for more characters who have to deal with being busty. I mean, when I was in 8th grade, my friends called me "big boobs," and by 10th grade history class I was the "Bubonic babe." And it wasn't meant to be flattering. More curvy girls please!
