this might sound silly but check out liner notes in albums and see who the bands/artists thanks or read up on interviews and see who their influences are. You can generally find some interesting stuff this way especially if its older stuff you had written off in the past. I seem to always find myself going back to stuff i thought was shitty and finding it to be pretty good.
