I'm not incredibly impressed with the new BECK. I thought I would instantly love it. But maybe I just had high excpectations. I've learned to aim low so I'm never disappointed. Things are never as good in real life as they are in your head ( Read more... )

And I agree with you on the new Beck CD, but I'm thinking it's one that will improve upon further listening. That's how it was for Sea Change with me, at least.

i might be interested. i go to chicago all the time. there is a better option than driving though: taking the megabus. it's like two bucks. no worries about parking, etc. elysia -- when will you be in chicago? i havent seen you since sufjan in portland.

I'll be there Nov. 17-19th. My friend Mike is having a birthday weekend there (he lives there now) and we'll be partying and going to Medieval Times. My Mom is flying down from Detoit so we plan on meeting up and getting a hotel room.

that sounds like a good option.
I would only be able to take Saturday the 18th off, but I also have Sunday and Monday off.
