Rewatching 9-6 Heaven Can't Wait

Mar 26, 2022 10:08

I’ve rewatched this episode several times preparing for this and on each rewatch I have just been warmed by Cas trying hard to be human and Dean and Cas’ feelings for each other as well as the obvious concern by Sam, and all the feels for Cas’ depression at having lost his mojo. This ep is mainly about the parallels between Crowley and Cas in what ( Read more... )

I haven't gotten to read this yet but I just wanted to leave a sort of pre-comment, lol...I'm so excited for it and I'm sorry it's already been a few days - I had a super busy weekend and of course I'm also slammed at work, so that's sucking up a lot of my time and mental energy. But I'm planning/hoping to get to read later this week. :D Squee! I love these rewatch posts of yours and I'm happy to have it to look forward to. (Also, I'm already admiring the beautiful graphics...Cas and Crowley, my beloveds. *heart eyes*)

[Breaking this into 2 comments because I wrote too much, lol!]

FINALLY I have found time to sit down and read this!! I'm sorry it took me forever, but I'm so happy I got to at last. It was worth the wait. <3

Reading this reminded me how fond I am of this episode, too. Sam and Dean are my faves but I love Cas and Crowley so much and I love how much we get about them in this.

This ep is mainly about the parallels between Crowley and Cas in what they are going through since the Fall of the Angels, both fallen from grace and trying to figure out their future.
That is such a good point! I never thought about those parallels because they don't have scenes together...I swear, sometimes I'm so dense with this stuff, lol. They have to dangle it in front of my face. Lucky I have you to point things out. :)

I can’t do it justice with just a summary. He is studying and trying really hard to be “human.”
Ahhhh yes that scene is a delight!

She is a terrible lady - dooping a guy into babysitting by making them think it is something else - really ( ... )

I wonder if Sam would have had more understanding of that...
Interesting point! It reminded me of the scene between them in First Born. Sam does understand Cas better because they both have low self-esteem from the mistakes they have made.

CASTIEL:But he just got here. The ebb and flow of human emotion - Dean, I've been on earth for a few years, and I've only begun to grasp it. To him, pain is pain.
This part about Cas knowing human emotions a bit, while this angel new to earth can’t understand it is very interesting. It shows how different these two species are at the very least, and how, despite how much he still has to learn, he is much more knowledgeable about humans than other angels.
This fascinates me, too! I love all the stuff about angels and how different they are from humans.

Cas here, feeling so vulnerable, so scared, and Dean telling him to just keep safe and have a normal life… man… the feels.
Right? My heart!

He made the call just so he could get some blood to shoot himself up with. I am thinking that maybe Kevin's blood, with all that hurt and anger, tastes better? or he is afraid of becoming more human by ingesting Sam's blood?Yeah, it's a really good question! Along the vein of what you said about the "taste" of Kevin's blood - I wonder if all ( ... )
