Trip to Yonezawa - First Day

It's become an annual thing to go up to hubby's friend's cabin (made by a Canadian crew with logs imported from Canada - yay!) in the woods during the summer for a few days.

That looks wicked.
Like Scotland but with sun!
We've been fishing over here too. My kids love it.
I was a bit cynical until they came back with 4 mackeral and they tasted really good. They didn't catch them but another fisherman gave them to them.
I luv your cabin too!
Looks like a great family holiday!

Thanks!

It was quite sunny and hot although it was cooler than Tokyo.

Alex just loves fishing and he's been wanting to do mountain stream fishing (fly-fishing) for a long time so it was a double treat when he actually caught an edible fish :D

It sounds like you are enjoying your stay. ^^ The scenery is certainly beautiful - so much green!

I would like to go fishing, too. I think I have to suggest it to my father because I don't want to go alone. Besides, I don't know any fishing places. :D

Does your father fish? I think he would enjoy doing that with you ;)

Occasionally, yes. When I was smaller, we used to go fishing together once every summer when we were visiting my grandmother in the Eastern Finland. It was a tradition I looked forward to every summer. However, now that I'm working at summers, I don't have a chance to go to my grandmother's anymore and the tradition has died. Growing up isn't always that fun, I suppose. :(

That's true. I sometimes wish I could go back to those days... But the fun part is remembering all the good times fondly and carrying on the tradition with your own kids if/when you have them aye?

I hope you do find a chance to go with him ;)

We did! Thank you :) The kids loved getting in the water, especially since it was so hot! Barbecued spare ribs is quite a treat, and to be able to eat fish that we caught ourselves was pretty awesome :D
