1) What's the weather like where you are right now?
Today was very sunny and hot. I stayed inside with the air con on. Saturday we had a typhoon go through. Not bad. It was a nice day in.

2) Has your weather been seasonally appropriate lately, or has it been unusual?Well, our rainy season was unusually short. Other than that, it's been normal ( Read more... )

Interesting! Better than PB?! I actually did watch the first two eps of BCS first and switched to Breaking Bad. I didn't really want to watch a show about a struggling lawyer... that first scene where the guy (Saul himself? not clear) is watching a VHS of his commercial made me feel like the whole show was about someone who ends up broke and sad LOL and it didn't get any better. So, you've got to tell me more about the show to get me remotely interested. I get that Saul ends up laundering money and dealing with gangsters etc later on - after I watched a bit of Breaking Bad - so I have the image of the show being about how a loser lawyer becoming successful from dealing with drug dealers and laundering money. What did you like about it in particular? That reminds me I really enjoyed Ozark. That was a good show about laundering ( ... )

Do you care about spoilers for BB? I'll wait to say more about BCS once I know. :) It's mostly a prequel but of course it came out after BB and I think they expect that the audience has knowledge of BB.

It's been a long time since I watched BB, but going mostly off of memory, I think Walt bugs me because he seems like a condescending jerk most of the time, LOL. Including to Jesse, though I agree he did care about him as well. But regarding family, Walt treated his wife and son very poorly, even though he claimed he was doing it all for them. And I think for most of the series Walt wasn't really trying to stop - he told people that and maybe even convinced himself it was true, but I think he really wanted to do it and was justifying it to himself.

That's a good question about how he's different from Tommy Shelby. I don't absolutely adore Tommy as a character, but it's true that I don't have the same knee-jerk irritated "ugh" reaction I do to Walt, lol. I suppose they can both be arrogant and condescending and I've definitely rolled ( ... )

I am up to S4 of BB. I am thinking BCS has much more going on than just dealing with BB characters - it seems like Walt is is strongest link to the operation from the way he reacts to Walt's confidences (I swear, these people treat their lawyers like they are counsellors), but I don't mind some spoilers ;)

And I think for most of the series Walt wasn't really trying to stop - he told people that and maybe even convinced himself it was true, but I think he really wanted to do it and was justifying it to himself. It's true. There were several times Walt went back to it because other people were trying to take over his own recipe - like when Jesse was able to recreate it himself, or when Gale tried to take over (and get rid of Walt, there was that) and both times the reason was not just because he felt in imminent danger or felt his friends were in imminent danger, but because he was proud and protective of his work. I totally get that, personally. The only difference from any other creation was that it was illegal and harmful. But ( ... )

Hot weather is very much a thing this year. I'm glad you're able to stay cool inside.

I haven't seen Peaky Blinders, but I like the lead actor a lot (Cillian Murphy).

I'm sorry that you're having work/financial stress. But it's nice to hear that Alex will be subbing the classes. :)

Oh, then you should enjoy it. There is a lot of hurt/comfort too. What do you know him from?

Thanks. He seemed to enjoy it!

Sorry about the stress with work.
I agree that it does sound like your colleague could have chronic fatigue. Had he started taking extra classes when he fell ill, or was he just about to?

Those burgers looked really good.

I never started Breaking Bad, mainly because i have problem seeing Bryan Cranston as anything but the dad in Malcolm in the Middle. I've seen him in serious roles since, but after all I've heard about the show, while I don't doubt it's good, it just doesn't seem like my thing.
I've had Peaky Blinders in my que for ages, will probably watch it, if only because Tom Hardy is in a season.

Thank you! Right? He was about to do some subbing, then take the same classes on from mid September. Now, I don't think I can give the classes to him.
<3
I started watching Peaky Blinders because the girl from Queen's Gambit was in it. I found out after I started watching that her character wasn't particularly a favorite LOL, still I love the show for Cillian Murphy now :D Hope you enjoy it!
