Trip to Izu - First Day

January 5 and 6 we went on a trip to Izu Penninsula, a vacation spot for people in the Kanto area, famous for its many hot springs, tasty fish(both river and ocean), wasabi (Japanese horseradish) and tangerines (mikan).

Looks so fun! Oh you guys enjoy fishing too? Haha that's so funny! Ohhh wine looks good too.

We are going fishing again maybe in 2 weeks or so :) recommend any places?

Yeah, the kids (especially Alex) are totally into fishing now.
I recommend the place we went to on the 6th.
I think the place name is Uchiura and the "park" is called Ashibo. It's just a levee again but the fishing was awesome (the kids caught a bucket load of fish (which I will have to fry up sometime soon...) and there were lots of grownups trying for squid maybe. The best thing was the scenery. Right in front is Mount Fuji in all its glory. (I will post a picture) All we had to pay was 400 yen for parking the car. There are also fishing boats going out that will take you for like 9000 yen a day - I will try to post some more details later.
