Elle never saw photos of her mother. She searched and searched her father’s office for them, but it seemed like there were none to be found. It was as if he had erased all proof of her existence. Sometimes, Elle wondered if she hadn’t been some sort of experiment or something.
Maybe she didn’t have a mother.
On her sixteenth birthday Elle woke up to find a picture of a woman with blonde hair and sad blue eyes on her bedside table. No note. Just a picture, unsigned. For the first time since she had moved into Primatech, Elle cried.
