Wow. O_O I'm not sure if I'm more clear or more confused about his background now! O_o I mean, if Robert isn't Connor, and that bit about Cissie King-Jones is true, then he's had *3* kids! Dayum!
Bravo on the essay, of course! Guess I didn't realize how much muddled background Ollie had. Wow.
I think I meant to say that he has a lot more confusing history, based on retcons and whatnot, than I'd figured. Chalk it up to me being halfway to sloshed when I commented. :p I really didn't mean to imply that your essay was confusing, anyway.
You know, between Ollie and Bruce (including Mia, Steph, Cass, and Helena - depending on the canon), that makes for *12* kids, adopted, biological, and otherwise!! O_O Damn!
And great job! Ollie is so complex, a character you can love at times and really hate at others which makes him feel very real. He's flawed, but most of the time he means well.

I like this description, Green Eyes! I think that is a good one. Ollie is like us mere mortals: he makes mistakes, sometimes the same ones, but has a good heart.
Excellent essay, Merfilly! Boy, it makes my head spin to see all the retconning and stuff they've done to Ollie over the years!
Post-IC DCU is a confusing in regards to continuity. The JL in particular. Meltzer should have never been aloud to touch it.
I thought the way Connor and Ollie's history was explained in the latest issue made sense. Ollie knew he couldn't be the father Connor needed, but still provided for him. Idea seemed firm though the dialog was off.
I just realized I didn't have this community on watch. I've missed so much.
This was excellent Filly. I'm not as knowledgeable about Ollie's past as I am about Roy's so I learned a great deal that I didn't know from this. They took 5 yrs to follow through on the set up of Ollie's resurrection? I did not know that. Wow.
Thank you for the mention *blushes* I'm honored to know that you like the way I write Ollie because when I do write him the first thought on my mind is whether thefic will sit well with your veiw of the character.

And yes, she did a knock out job on this.
Filly- You have the best handle on this character. Mind if I point DC in your direction so they can do better by him in Batman and The Outsiders?

Now I suddenly want to find some Ollie bunnies.
