Finals brain has sapped my ability and sheer will to be analytical. But I will say that this movie was one of the smartest commentaries on contemporary horror that I've seen in a long time. And although the whiteboard list of possible monsters was funny, it was also a really interesting acknowledgement of how far the movie was willing to go to embrace the different kinds of things that terrify us. (Also, I'm really curious to see what the sugarplum fairy would have looked like.) I remember thinking that the film did a good job of really working the question of otherness in interesting ways.

I was, however, bothered by the fact that they lumped Wendigo in with Sasquatch and Yeti, when it is a completely different (and far scarier) kind of thing entirely. (But then, I have deep, deep love for the wendigo. Deep love in my ghoulish little heart.)

I like the distinction between Zombies and Zombie Redneck Torture Family.

Your Nano last year was about a Wendigo right?
