I've recently read two really good books that fall into what I call the "contemporary intellectual literature" category that I enjoy so much. Books that are a step above light fare like chic lit or mass-produced fiction, but are still more "fun" to read than some other more academic titles, and I think a lot of you girls may like them as well. Rules of Civility sounds lovely! Ever since The Bell Jar I love books about Manhattan and the magazine world!

I am starting Rules of Civility next! I have heard such good things.

I LOOOOOOVE audiobooks. I do the same as you and I listen on my commute. I get so attached to the books I listen to if the narrator is good -- I remember those books that I listen to so well.

One audiobook rec for you if you like current fiction...Ready Player One. It's a weird premise (kind of a near-future in-depth thing about video games and 80s nostalgia) and I would have thought it was totally not my thing. But the audio version is narrated by Wil Wheaton and it is great and very engaging! It's clever and unique and I can see why people love it. I'm not sure I would like it as much if I had just picked it up and read it, but I'm loving the audio book.

Also, The Art of Fielding, which I have plugged here before, was a *great* audiobook too. I don't know who the narrator was but I enjoyed it so much.

I love to talk about books. :)
