happy Sunday

I just had a really terrific yoga practice. I felt so strong and centered--my body really wanted to be doing yoga. I did my strength-training circuit, AND I did my first-ever all-by-myself headstand. I did one a few weeks ago in Lucia's class, but that was with Lucia standing there to catch me if I fell on my head. Today it was just me, leaning ( Read more... )

Yay! Especially for the headstand. I did a shoulder stand with help a couple weeks ago, but it didn't register with me until after class. I did yoga Saturday and Sunday and am feeling it. I really need to start doing it more than once a week again. I'm glad you're in a healthy place.

I also need to start doing yoga more than once a week! Stupid work. I could get so much more done if I didn't have to spend so much at the office!

Shoulder stand was never an issue for me, oddly. Possibly because when I was a teenager, the only phone upstairs was in my mom's bedroom, which used to be an attic, so I would spend my considerable phone time laying on her bed with my feet on the sloped ceiling. So I guess I've been doing shoulder stand since I was 14! But the inversions that require getting my ass balanced in the air without help from my arms, that's trickier. Getting there!
