that's why they call it experimentation. i'll try everything once as long as it's vegan.
(and the portobello steak is probably cheaper too. (depending where you shop that is. i think i used about 1 1/2 packages of the tofurkey stuff, so that could easily be more expensive than mushrooms)
hey! have you ever tried doing this with your own home made seitan? i have the best recipe from bryanna and i put it in my food processor on the slicer setting and it slices it in little pieces just like this that are micro thin.
ohhhhhh! you know what? i had that idea, but never did it, and then i completely forgot to do it.
do you use the soy-seitan loaf recipe or another one? and i never thought of using the food processor to cut it. (man, i am losing it. haha!) if you have the time, could you link to the recipe you use? i'm always up for trying a new seitan recipe.
gimme yer email, it's too big to post. it's the one with oats and tapioca and it is supreme. i mean it. you need a hardcore kitchenaid mixer or a bread machine to knead it though. it cooks overnight in the oven and it is THE BEST seitan ever.
(and now that you mention it, i think i remember someone talking about tapioca powder or flour in vegancooking, and i picked it up, and then months later i was looking in my pantry and i was wondering what in tarnation did i pick up tapioca powder for?)
French Bread recipie is a must!! POST IMEDIATELY!!
For some reason all my vegan bread endevors fail miserably unless I make the plain old family brown bread, from some aunts, sisters, mother's, mother's, mother's or something like that. >.> ...
I really wish I could make some yummy french bread, or rolls, or subs, or buns.. anything but normal bread -_-.
I <3 Carbs, but I bored easily.
Also I second Montse, is this Seitan recipe far game for all veganites???? ^-^ *hopes*
