well, i finished my internship last friday. i'm glad i did it. it's hard work. gives me a huge appreciation for machines and people who farm for a living

That market thing (with the fish throwing) was actually really cool (minus the dead fishes). They have really big seagulls by the shore there! Also, I had really wanted to do the "Seattle Underground" tour, but was saving cash. I ate at one chinese place (vegan) that was pretty gross and I also suspect someone there stold my CC number because that was the only place I used that card on the trip and someone paid a Seattle phone bill with it a week or so later. Also, Whole Foods carrys Mighty-O donuts packed up nicely there. Umm... There is a sculpture garden by the Space Needle that looked cool, but I just admired it from my hotel room. I really had an uneventful trip when I went. Should maybe go back and try again. :D
In Seattle, you've got to go to Pizza Pi for one of their calzones and the garlic white sauce. Oh my, I could eat an entire quart of the garlic white sauce. Also, if you go to the vegan Thai buffer place I want to know how you found it!!! I wandered around for an hour trying to locate it without any luck :(
well, i waaaas... unil i realised how much time and energy it takes away from the farming.
but that community sounds fascinating. as long as i was left to the plants, and someone else who preferred taking care of the animals, that'd be a-ok in my book... do you plan on doing this in down under? :-p i might just have to visit though. sounds exciting! (and gives me ideas for the philly-area.)
Sure! It's totally OK for you to be left to the plants. We haven't really started to work out the details, but I think probably everybody will be able to opt out of anything or everything (except for basic veganism). The land will have to be shared (otherwise we can't afford it), and I imagine some of the buildings will be too, but not necessarily all, and each person's endeavours can be separate if that's what they want.
Recken it will have to be down under, since that's where all the rest of us are. Also, America seems to be getting less and less friendly towards progressive people. Not sure that I'll ever want to go back there. (I've got an American passport and have lived there for 9 months as an adult ... in Pennsylvania, as it happens.)
It's really nice here, though! You should consider it, in the long term.

we'll have our trusty GPS, so that'll help us find it. sorry to hear you wasted your time and didn't even get to eat after all that trouble. :-(

I didn't know you were interested in animal sanctuaries as well as farming. You'd be very welcome at the Occult Colt Cult: http://community.livejournal.com/oh_colt_cult/profile.
