Aw, this was sweet! It's so nice to see them get a happier ending here. I especially like the little details like the fact that Hoshi smells a bit ripe, lol. And that Hana is a terrible patient.

But whether he is as sane as the next man or as mad as a rabid dog, she only loves him more for his support.

Aw, this feels very right for her to think.

I liked the fact that Hana feels different from Bruce and Hoshi feels different from Clark--similar enough to be haunting, but different enough to not just be a transposition. Though I also like it that merely being reborn as a woman does not give Bruce cooking skills automatically. :)

Nice work!

God, I love this! This is how that Elseworld should have ended with Hoshi and Hana living happily ever after.

Also I love how Hana has sucky cooking skills like Bruce and how she and Hoshi echoe Bruce and Clark yet they aren't the same people.

I can't tell you how much I enjoyed this story. It was so ambitious of you to select this prompt and your execution of it was outstanding. I particularly liked the tone of the narrative, the way it was completely unique and seemed appropriate for a fic set at that time and place. Really, your Hana is just lovely in every detail, and I thought the intimations of Bruce were just enough to echo without being intrusive. This is certainly how this Elseworlds should have continued. It was a pleasure to read.

But even here Hoshi proves that he is ever an honorable man as he asks her if she is sure
Now that, ladies and gentlemen is a truly honorable man.

And this is a truly wonderful story.

she drifts back to sleep with her fingers tangled in Hoshi’s hair.
I will highlight this line because it struck me and fit the characters as drawn in this Elseworld so well, their flowing hair...

Yes! Such a better ending than a lame damsel-death.
Extremely amusing that she doesn't know how to cook. XD Makes sense too, even without comparing to Bruce. Hoshi's patience owns. :)
