Picnic!

We had a picnic this weekend since it was in the 80s where we live. We went to a shoreline near home which was sort of marshy in one area and interesting plant life in another ( Read more... )

it was! I put a little bit of fresh thyme and some dried basil and dill in there too (just a little of each) It's good just by itself, too! Or on a salad.. or wrap.. or most anything :)

that patato salad looks great, and so does the view!! I'm jealous, here in Amsterdam we're still waiting for genuine spring to kick in (and we don't have anything resembling real nature for miles around us)!

Don't be too jealous - we grew up in new england and only escaped in February (after some big storms had already hit, of course.) I definitely cant complain about the change in scenery though! Around here it's like.. snow? Really? What's that look like? ;) Seeing green in February was an atmosphereic shock for a while. I kept thinking it was April.

The food looks great....as usual. Smilin, one thing for sure, yawl eat real good.

Where do yawl live? If its the US , it'd have to be inFlorida....or Texas...or Lousiana...grin....with temps like that already. Our daughter and son in law live in Tampa...and I noticed the other day, they had temps of almost 90.....ugh....thats to hot for me.

Thumbs up....

Except Louisiana doesn't have anything remotely approaching anything one would be caught dead calling a "bay". :)

Actually it's apparently been cold and yucky down there lately - my mom is visiting and was grumbling about not having brought clothing for 30 degree weather.

Spring! Spring! Spring!

We try! or.. well, I try. ha. No just kidding.. I usually make the shopping lists and he helps me cook. And lately helps me shop too!

And on the contrary.. we are actually in Northern California! 80s was beautiful but it went back down to 60s/low 70s again this week. Booo! lol :P The warm air will return soon though, that's what everyone around here tells us. We escaped from Boston this winter so we are enjoying our sunshine!

ah Boston, that explains the lust for the warm sunshine....grin. My brother in law and his wife are both engineers and both are up in Boston working, they've been up there now on two years, and are ready to come back down south to escape the cold and snow....grin.....

Northern California, ....I used to live out near San Fransciso....and would go out to Half Moon Bay, and the place that burnt real bad a few years back.....cant think of the name...but even in the middle of summer, the ocean was to cold to swim in....and then you'd have the fear of the Great White Sharks...grin.....

Nice looking bay you took the picture of.....tho....

on and ah...

Aw, thanks! I did too. It was too nice out to not eat outside somewhere! It was either going to be the bay view or the big hills at the park! Different wildlife at each location. The park has eagles and squirrells and cows (yep cows! at the very top of the hills) and the shoreline has the rabbits and lots of birds and tiny creatures! Either way we have something to look at. Soon up... the beach! :D

It was pretty darn good if I do say so myself! Fresh chicken salad is one of my favorite summery foods. Especially with red grapes and nuts! I suppose that's more a 'french' version..
