Annalise's Yummy No Bake Bars

These are wonderfully good.  It's a recipe hybrid of two similar cookies, with me picking and choosing the final result.  I have to admit, it's one of my better no-bake concoctions, and I am looking forward to entering this baby in the county fair this year. :) Very rich and they remind me of Scotcharoos (but now "Scotch") with an extra layer of ( Read more... )

Are you crushing up the cereal before you mix it up with the peanut butter goo so its more granular than big chunks?

It looks delicious :)

Yes, I did crush it. I actually just crush it all together with my hands. I premeasured the cereals in one bowl and then crushed them up. I poured the peanut butter mix into that bowl then, and it made a nice bottom layer.

Thanks!

These were OMG hideously good. My co-workers are, as we speak, getting small sugar highs off of them.

I WOULD use a tad less sugar next time, if I could.. I was thinking of maybe doing a mix of corn starch/powdered sugar in the pudding layer. (It didn't help that I added a bit too much milk.. and had to add the full amount of sugar.. maybe if I'd had only 1/4 c.. I could have gotten away with a little less.

Oh! and *cover me in shame* I used a mix of Raisin Bran, and crispies.. since I didn't have cornflakes? It worked well! and hey.. its almost healthy! (with little raisins scattered through the bottom layer)

I am glad they worked out well! ;) They are good. I had to tweak things here and there, too, but once you have the basic recipe, it's easy to do.
