Guys.. this is probably one of THE best foods I've ever eaten. I'm talking dinner, and dessert, anything at all. Definitely in the top 5 and I'm clearly making it again at Christmas. If not sooner! My only regret is that there's none left ( Read more... )

pumpkin, cheesecake, pecan

Looks delicious!!! I really want to eat some of this, if only I had helper elves. ;)

I'm pretty sure the blurryness in the photo is caused by having a really short depth of field. Most likely you were using the most zoomed out lens and got up very close to the cheesecake. Try bringing the camera away a few feet and using a tighter zoom with the lens, this will lengthen out your 'good focus' zone and make the entire cheese cake in focus. In the end you want the item on the plate to be in focus and the plate itself to be out of focus, it can take a little playing around to find the sweet spot. :)

Yeah, she has one of those 'easy' to use cameras..(point and shoot... I mean it has a few 'fancy' features but I'm not thrilled with it) I have the Nikon D50 which I LOVE!! But didnt bring it with me on T-Day.. all things considered.. I've never used her camera, AND we were all waiting on me taking the photo so we could actually EAT the cheescake!! hahaha

Needless to say they didnt have any patience to wait around for a good photo op and I'm lucky I got a photo at all!!

ps - you dont need helper elves, I have faith you can do it yourself!

I used to be a big fan of point and shoot, but now that I've got my Canon 350D I'll never be able to go back

I'll try my best to make this, and see what happens :)

btw, I always love your posts, please dont stop!

Really, I never used a P&S! Hardly.. My Nikon is actually my first digital SLR.. I realized my old 1970-something Minolta was just too heavy to carry around all the time. I do still love it though. Still getting used to the Nikon. At least it's a DSLR, I do give it that! I only have 1 lense for it right now though.. arg. OH well, I can use my boyfriend's canon if I'm feeling brave! Not sure what model it is at this second but he's bought a lot of lenses for it recently. Too heavy (literally) for me though.

Seriously this recipe is easy, just follow the directions!

& don't worry, I won't! You'd have to cut off my hands before I stop cooking/baking. I like to eat so it's only natural..

I rarely make the same thing twice, so you know it has to be really good if I'm already planning on when to make it next!

It IS good! I know what you mean!!! Usually it's a graham cracker crust..I did see a few pumpkin cheesecakes with the standard crust, but I saw this one and YUM! DEFINITELY worth it. Gotta splurge a little on the pecans but definitely worth it. You may actually only need about a cup for the pecans in the glaze. I did the cup and a half and they were quite plentiful. Although, they do soak up the bourbon pretty well, for a nice little treat :)
