He stares at the ceiling in the dark, wanting to feel sleepy, but his mind is whirling with Alfords. He should try to reconcile himself with Al's double, but he doesn't think he can bring himself to face that at the moment. Then a loud knock on the door startles him. Alford? But the action seemed far too confident to suit the human.
"Yes?" He calls, trying to keep the annoyance out of his voice at being disturbed.

He opens the door a little and pokes his head into the room. "Only me," he says as casually as possible. "They kicked me out of the infirmary."

[Misery loves company, I guess.] Gwendal puts on a pair of shorts - [How he's changed me, even in a few days...] - and gets into the other bed, facing toward Gunter.
The silence stretches out. Eventually he can't take it any more; he hasn't had a proper conversation, without the strain of secrets and abuse, in days. "How're you holding up, Gunter?"
