. . . In direct contrast to Ino, Fran's day had started bad, and gotten worse. He'd had a dream about his parents again, the day of their death branded in his mind and then distorted in that odd dream way until he was, in the end, the one holding his knife; it was fairly clear what his subconcious was telling him. The bags under his eyes even underscored the matter.

There was a pop quiz in chemistry. Not so good. His ceramics piece? Kaboom. One of his shoelaces had gone missing. He'd forgotten about Ino's chocolate, and had to run and pick some up there.

He sort of wanted to just crawl into bed and go back to sleep, but he had chocolate to deliver, and he wasn't completely sure he'd get sleep sans nightmares at this point, so really, all that was left to do was go through it.

/yes~ um. time skip to him knocking and ino being all CHOCOLAAAAAAAAAATE~

"Fran-kun!" Ino cried, boob-squishing hugging him a little too tightly. Her studies were a mess, papers and pencils and books everywhere. It wasn't like she cared, anyway. Who needed history when one could have the darkest chocolate the academy could offer?

"I'm glad you didn't ditch on me," she said, smiling at him. She didn't open it right away. She'd save it for when Fran and Regene got settled in. It'd be her reward.

"Yeah, yeah. I said I'd get you chocolate. Just don't make any more public posts, about it, okay? It's embarrassing."

Two more things that made life less than satisfactory: Karin making a big deal out of him buying Ino chocolate, and just the whole "let's show how little manly pride Fran has" stunt in general. Alright, so maybe he was taking the wrong tone with it.

"Aren't you going to eat that?"

"Of course! Not now, though, I just ate a granola bar." Which was mostly-true. Except she'd eaten it half an hour ago. Same difference, really. She put on her shoes and looked at Fran triumphantly.

"So, want to go out?" she asked. "Outside, I mean. Like for a walk, just as two good friends?" Her face was innocent, her tone innocent, everything innocent. But beware, Fran, she's not as innocent as she looks... or doesn't look.
