Kiba scratched at the back of his neck lazily as he wandered out of the main building. He was still map-less, but Sakura had given him a quick overview of campus, so he had a vague idea of where things were. Of course, his nose could pick out where the dining halls and food court were even from where he was standing, and started heading in that direction. He wasn't exactly hungry, but it was about time for lunch anyway, and Akamaru wouldn't mind something to eat ( ... )

Hinata could feel the person wandering in the direction of the dining hall and she didn't even bother to look up. It was just someone late for lunch. She narrowed her area of empathy to her immediate area out of politeness and popped a grape in her mouth.

Her calm demeanor only lasted a few minutes before a dog appeared out of almost nowhere and she held her hand out curiously. Two dogs on campus. She smiled and petted him a little before she heard the voice calling out after him.

"...Kiba?" She blinked a few time and in her shock, her control lapsed. His emotions flowed into her mind and she shook her head a little to clear it. An insistent bump against her hand made her guard her sandwich a little, but she couldn't help staring at Kiba. Instantly she felt a pit of guilt. Another friend she hadn't kept in touch with, and this one was her fault.

"I'm sorry I never told you I was leaving. F-father was very insistent I leave right then."

Kiba slowed to a stop before the girl he'd only known for a few months, taking a seat in front of her. Akamaru continued trying to steal Hinata's attention, but Kiba was too focused on her to scold him. The fact that she remembered his name made his heart pump faster and his throat close up. Somewhere in the back of his mind, he realized it may be making her uncomfortable that he had interrupted her lunch to sit and stare at her, but he couldn't be bothered to think about it right now ( ... )

Hinata tried very hard not to squirm under the attention and lifted her hand to pet Akamaru absently. After a few strokes, she tore a little piece of her sandwich off to give him.

"Y-yes...I don't think they cared much. I just had to go home for schooling." She replied, hands fidgeting nervously in her lap. He was practically radiating happiness and she resisted the urge to just bask in it. Instead, she smiled.

Hinata had gotten used to explaining her power over her time here so it was silly to be so self-conscious about it. She poked her fingers together out of habit and ducked her head.

"I...from what I'm told, I hear- I mean feel emotions. Apparently I've always done that. Recently I started projecting them. Sending emotions to other people." It still made her wince to think of what she'd done with mere emotions.
