My twisted little brain.
"Mr. Ackles you first encountered the defendant in the Denton cemetery correct?" ADA Erica Reed asked.
"Yes." Jensen answered
"What happened during this first encounter?"
Jensen leaned forward in the witness box glancing at Jared before answering. "The defendant stabbed me, and then tried to run me over."
Hardin frowned. "You should not have been there!" he snapped.
"Mr. Patric please keep your client in line." The judge glared down at the handsome defense attorney.
"Jensen should not have been there! He had no right!" Hardin snapped again starting to rock back and forth.
Judge Lehne slammed his cavil down hard. "I will have order in my court room! Bailiff please remove the defendant. Court is in recess for lunch."
Tanner waited at the back entrance of the courthouse for Padalecki and his little whore. The first person out of the doors was the publisher Morgan and his boy toy. Then came Padalecki all wrapped around Ackles like a spider monkey.
Raising his gun Tanner called out to get the taller man’s attention. "Padalecki! You ready to meet your god!"
Jared spun around just as the report from the gun echoed through car port. The bullet pierced his shoulder as Jared pushed Jensen to the ground covering him with his body.
Christian pushed Steve and Chad to the ground Jeff covered them. Pulling his gun Christian fired three shots. Each bullet hit his target two to the head one to the throat. The shooter was dead before he hit the ground.
Jensen pressed his hand to Jared’s shoulder blood seeping over his fingers. "Jared. Jesus! We need an ambulance!" fear and panic filled Jensen’s voice.
"The fucker is court security. Shit!" Christian squatted down looking at the dead man’s name tag. Tanner Stanton.
Jared groaned as he trying to push himself up. "Fuck! God damn it." He reached up placing his big hand over Jensen’s on his shoulder.
"Stay still Jay. Help is coming." Jensen pressed a kiss to Jared’s temple.
ADA Duchamp came out of the court house. "What the Hell happened?"
"Looks like one of the court security wanted Sheriff Padalecki dead." Deputy David Otunga explained. "Mr. Kane shot back in self defense killing the shooter."
"Son of a bitch." Duchamp swore. He would have to file for a continuance.
The shooting made the national news. Everyone speculating if the shooting had anything to do with the trail. It didn’t take long for the press to find out Tanner Stanton was the cousin of convicted kidnapper Robert Stanton and that revenge was the motive.
"You should be staying in the hospital like the doctor wants." Jensen said disapprovingly.
"It’s a through and through shoulder wound. I don’t need to stay the night. I want to go home and sleep in our bed with you." Jared pulled Jensen to him with his good arm nuzzling his neck.
"The murder trial was adjourned for two weeks. When the trail resumed the Prosecutor had place another deal on the table. My family had felt they had gone through enough emotional turmoil and with the possibility that the judge might dismiss the murder charges a plea deal was the best course of action. The deal put Hardin in the State Asylum for the criminally insane for life. If he should ever be deemed competent he would then be sent to state prison. My soul felt free for the first time since I was murdered." Jessica Mason
3 years later
Deputy Katie Cassidy nervously nibbled on her finger nail. Her stomach was knotted and doing summersaults at the same time. She had already tripped twice on the train of her wedding dress. Katie was about ready to bolt. She loved Jesse with all her heart but she was going throw up.
A sharp one knuckled rap on the door made Katie jump. "Come in!"
"How you doing sweetheart?" Jared asked stepping inside.
"Please tell there’s some emergency and we are needed in the field boss. I can’t do this. I’m going to fall on my face." Katie fretted.
Jared laughed putting his hands on Katie’s shoulders. "Katie you look beautiful. I won’t let you fall. It’s part of my duties walking you down the aisle." Jared pressed a kiss on her forehead. "Now it’s time so let’s go get you married."
The small church was filled with most of Denton. Standing next to his Best man David Otunga and grooms men Richard Speilg was the groom Jesse McCarthy with a big goofy in love smile on his face. Sitting in the front row was Jensen with the son he and Jared had adopted dressed in an identical tux to Jared’s sitting on his lap. Christian and Steve played the wedding march on their guitars. Chad and Jeff sat next to Jensen.
Jensen was in awe at how handsome his husband looked in his tuxedo. Jared was shocked and honored when Katie asked him to walk her down the aisle. Closing his eyes for a moment Jensen gave Jessica Mason a silent thank you for bring them together.
"You’re very welcome Jensen. Thank you for helping me to rest in peace." Jessica Mason.
