Oh, today is Earth Hour? That should be okay. I'm okay with turning off a few lights, but let's not turn off the Air conditioner, okay? 'coz It gets too hot in here

Sigh, Earth hour. Pardon the expression but: what a crock.
Things like Earth Hour let everyone feel good about themselves, have a party (consume more), then go back doing what they were doing earlier. Comfortable in the knowledge that they don't have to worry about the environment for another year.
I live on ten litres of water per day, recycle everything possible (including using a composting toilet) and grow more of my food each year. I will join in on things like Earth hour when everyone else catches up to me.
I am enjoying your journal Suraj. Thanks for taking the time to post.
Glad to know my blog is of value to you. If you can identify yourself (as in, a link to your online presence, if any) I'm sure I'll have something to learn from you. :)
Hope that you find it interesting. My partner and I are currently building a (very small) solar passive house, so our food production has been low this year, but once the house is done we will be working more on edible forest gardening, sheep dairying and food preserving.
The aim being as high a level of self sufficiency as possible, with the expectation that we cant rely on having a functioning global economy as Peak Oil really starts to bite.
