Mandolin vs Mandolin Shrinivas

I was about to leave to Chennai this weekend to pickup my Electric Mandolin that I had ordered a while ago and just in time I get to know about the Ramanavami concerts in Bangalore where U.Shrinivas and U.Rajesh are doing a 'duet' concert this Saturday.

So there was a decision to be made.

I had to postpone my train tickets

The tickets are being sold outside the venue itself.

There is this instrument that is essentially a pen / thumb drive with a recorder. You can record voices directly as mp3s. Maybe you can arrange for one if you want to record and try and sit as close to the performers as possible.

the problem with these recorders is that they don't record in stereo... ;)

All the mandolin shrinivas collection that I have is very decent near-CD quality audio (320Kbps). Probably 'something' is better than 'nothing'.

Thanks a bunch for the info. Just when I thought the week was moving slowly, I have something to look forward to this weekend. Coincidentally, this piece by U Srinivas (Maha Ganapathim in Nattai) has been repeatedly playing on my Ipod . I can keep listening to it endlessly ....
