iPod: A funeral and (hopefully) a Wedding

After my iPod died, I decided to get it replaced before the warranty expires (which it does in Feb'05). I took it to the Apple Store in Forum. The guy wanted 'proof' that my iPod is dying. and there it was -- It clearly skipped music while playing over a 'dock station'. I read an article somewhere about how protection plans are not worth it. Instead of buying one for every major piece of tech you have, put the money in your own fund. That way, should your devices never break down, you'll still have your money. If one takes a hit, there's protection plan money from your other devices to cover it. It's a very small chance that multiple devices will break down.

The iPod is the only "valuable" device that I have.

AppleCare is a universal program (except Middle East). It works just like the regular Warranty. I could, for example, replace an iPod bought in India in the US, it seems.
