I know you're having a splendiferous time in NY and all, and that is fine and lovely, but when are you leaving? This is the pressing matter at hand. Although I know your mother is probably like, "Let's leave NY July 31, so then we have to leave the next day!" :P
That sucks about not hearing about housing yet. I'm sure you'll get something. It could be that an unexpectedly high number of upperclassmen applied for on-campus housing and/or they let in an unusually big frosh class. My friends at UMD got super-shafted in terms of housing because of all the upperclassmen that went for it. As much as it screwed me over last year (as in, it was the reason they couldn't accept me...) I think all universities should develop a "all frosh must live on campus"-rule [unless you're a non-typical (read: older than most students) student]. Not only is it great for meeting new people/learning your way around the school, but it's so helpful to know that housing won't be among the 58940353 problems with which you'll have to deal in the college
I already said to my mom that I wanted to go to your house for more than just a day. The thing is, while she felt comfortable at your house (and I'm not just saying that,) she doesn't want to impose on you all.
UF promised me that I actually did have housing, but because my top three choices were all full, they're waiting for the dust to settle to see if they can put me in one of the halls I chose or whatever. I just want my damn assignment already, and to learn about my roommate!
