Nick was like a starter, vetting the appetite for more, always teasing Helen into real hunger with stubbly kisses but failing to truly satisfy her needs without even noticing.

Stephen was the main course, everyone’s heartthrob, catering to her needs with easy smiles and the salt for adventure. Just right for her but she couldn’t see.
