Everything You Want (Claudia/Martin)

Nov 11, 2009 00:50

“You’re over-thinking again,” an amused voice shakes Claudia out of her thoughts. Skilled hands softly caress her naked arm, intensifying the pleasant tingling in her stomach that’s been there since she woke up.

“Does my company bore you? ” Martin asks, though he knows the answer. “Is the sex not satisfying enough?”

Claudia rolls her eyes at his smug grin.

“Then stop thinking and enjoy it.”

“I’m not in love with you.”

“I’m not in love with you either.”

“What do you get out of it then?”

“Apart from waking up every morning with a beautiful, smart woman?”

“Flatterer.”

“Always.”

Sometimes her good luck makes her want to scream. Martin makes breakfast, knows how to talk about work without her having to break the Official Secrets Act, presents take-away food as his own cooking without bothering to throw out the incriminating evidence and when she doesn’t play along he makes a great show of being embarrassed. She’s been waiting in vain for weeks for the surprisingly relaxing routine to become annoying. He’s the perfect boyfriend but…

“Thinking about Blondie again?”

“Stop calling him that.”

But a small smile slips on her face. If only mocking Nick wouldn’t feel so good.

“Julian called,” Martin announces putting the plates on the table. “By the way, this time I really did cook so you might want to make a will first. On the up side, I am a doctor… so there’s hope. So anyway, you seem to have made quite an impression on Julian’s sister.” A small smirk lights up his face but Claudia doesn’t seem to be listening, silently picking at the food, until the sudden silence makes her look up.

“Sorry, what were you saying?”

“You ok?” Martin asks, concern in his eyes.

Claudia shrugs and sighs. “He… kissed me.”

Ah.
