Winter chills

There is something about the man that makes her shiver like under a thick cloak of snow, he’s heat and fire but shines with the silver caress of the moon and chills her to the bones. It’s the intensity of his gaze that throws an icy veil of anticipation over hear heart, the scourging look of someone who has lost everything of value and now gambles with what’s left recklessly. She wants to claw out his eyes to stop the memories of a time she saw that look in every cruelly honest mirror but the violent impulse is frozen into a caress by the heat of his breath - so close but a million miles away.

He’s dark and deep like the sea at night and just as perilous, stirring curious longing in her twin soul but he wears the warm sun in his tempting smile like a ripe fruit and she feels like a child watching a new, strange, tempting toy with wide eyes. But as she leans in to warm herself up at the fire or his passion he pulls away firmly.

Ah. So Yue-Lan has warned him.

Her diamond sharp smile cuts into the silent tension of the moment.

That will make it even more interesting.
