I’d never admit it - to you or anyone else - but I’ve learned all I know from you. Not lexical knowledge but the important details that make me who I am.
You taught me everything worth knowing about ships and sailing as I was lying in your arms, drunk on your intoxicating scent. You taught me wrong from right and how sometimes the one is just as destructive as the other. You taught me the fragility of truth and the airlessness of endless love.
You’ve been a good teacher. You taught me to myself.
Now teach me how to hate you.
