The weekend after SitS is the Mystic Seaport Sea Music Festival, June 12 to 15.  I've been attending this festival every year since I was a kid, and wouldn't miss it for the world.  Perhaps I can tempt some of you into extending your stay and joining me there.  All the performers are brilliant and some of them are well-versed on piracy.  For ( Read more... )

For anyone who'd like to do a little sightseeing, Plimoth Plantation is the best historic re-creation around.  They've built a set of houses which exactly imitates the Plymouth settlement in the 1630s, and their interpreters role-play so well you'd swear you were talking to a live member of the Mayflower voyage.

Hopefully someone wants to steer this ship off the sand bar I ran it aground on and will plan an outing for next year. I will gladly sign on as entertainment director again, especially since I have a TON of stuff I had accumulated for this year.
