Very well thought out. Loved it. Chase may be the only one who cares for House without trying to change him. Wanted to slap everyone last episode. First they condemn him, then they insult him, then they blame his decision on wanting to be miserable. Doe any of his friends ever take the time to really talk to him? Gaaaahhhh!
I agree 100%. And I must say, these two fics for the last two episodes are a bit like my confession about the show. It's the only way I can cope with what's going on. It's such a bloody mess right now. I'm scared of each new episode bc I know it will hurt. I wish I knew how to quit the show.
Well, unless Chase gets a lot of screentime and hooks up with House... and the probability of this is basically 0, so I think it's pretty safe to say that I'll probably have to bend a bit next week's episode too. :)
I miss having the old team around House. Damn it I even miss Cameron even though I hated her with passion and still do. But this is no team and House is completely on his own. It hurts.
Beautiful series, and so sad. I hope that the two of them get past the barriers and masks they have between them. Chase really is the only one who doesn't constantly try and change House. He does accept him (and love him!) the way he is. I only saw the end of the episode, but I got annoyed at the whole interaction between Cuddy and House. It was like nails on a blackboard to me. The thing that bothers me about the whole "House screws up because he's feeling good" thing is that it makes it seem that he couldn't be a great doctor if it wasn't for the pain. And he apparently was a brilliant doctor way before the infarction happened,so it annoys me when it's insinuated that he can't be. At least Cuddy did say that. Was Chase even in the episode?
Nope, no Chase at all. :( See, I think that "House fucks up bc he's feeling good" is rubbish, ppl think that's what's happening but that's not it. I don't think this was really about the pain or even about feeling good, it's something much deeper, something no one can see because they all think it's simple to figure House out. Well, it's not. This isn't just about choosing between pain and happiness, it's something much more complicated with a tiny bit of these two too. I hope I can exploit that "something" in later chapters (if there will be any, maybe the writers come to their senses lol but I doubt it)
"" He wants House to fuck Cuddy and just get it over with once and for all so that after a hurricane of a breakup they could go back to casual banter. He wants 13 to quit or die so that Foreman can be the cold prick he used to be, and still is behind his mask. He wants Wilson to come to his senses and be the friend he used to be not just the goddamn preacher. And fuck, he wants Kutner to become him, the devoted puppy who seems clueless but can read House without fucking magnifying glasses that distort the image, a perfect replica who won’t need far too obvious hints about the 14 scenario. ""
This paragraph is fantastic! It sums up everything that'd wrong with the show right now and/or everything that needs to be fixed with the show.
The story is great, but that paragraph made it for me. <3

This is EXACTLY what should have happened after that episode.
Your take on Chase's thoughts are perfect.
