Ahahaha! As it turns out, we do have an answer as to whether all this will happen again: remember the Terminators?

We will also find out what the Cylon plan was in the fall, when The Plan, a two-hour special, airs. You know, if you tell us the Cylons have a plan in every intro for 3+ seasons, but don't reveal what that plan is in the actual show ( Read more... )

Didn't watch BSG - I'm thinking maybe I should, if only to find out how the hell one makes a succesful tv series for four years without explaining the goals of the main antagonists within the series itself...

You really should. Season 1 is excellent, and to be fair to the Cylons, it seems pretty clear until partway through S2 that the plan is "kill all the humans, who deserve it." It's only when the writers start trying to think of new ways for the Cylons and humans to interact that things get muddled (and this can still be fun). Also, the end of S2 sees the Cylons consciously change their plan. After that, they're kind of confused... So really, it's only S2 that the confusing plan applies.

It has its flaws in the long-view, but the show's still top-tier. Great acting, production value, and writing (for the most part). It asks the tough, interesting questions, even if it doesn't resolve them so well. Some of its vague "spirituality" can pretty annoying for hard s.f. fans, though - just a warning.

You'd be great at fanvids! Those songs are perfect.

There are a couple I'd like to make, though it would be so time-consuming. For instance, there's a Martin Gore (of Depeche Mode) cover of Nick Cave's "Loverman" that would make a fantastic, creepy Leoben/Kara homage (you can listen at this site, if you scroll down to where it says Counterfeit - the album, and click on track 005 "Loverman".) It's unsettling, actually, hearing the creepy lyrics with the slick Depeche Mode vocals and techno.

& Switchblade Symphony's "Cocoon" cut with shots of Kara flying her viper and brooding over her Aurora figurine could be awesome. Problem is, things like that never turn out as badass as one imagines them. And I don't have a Mac with Final Cut, either.

Those songs would be perfect!

I'd also love to see a Boomer vid to Steely Dan's "Don't Take Me Alive." I mean, just check out the lyrics for the second verse:

Can you hear the evil crowd
The lies and the laughter
I hear my inside
The mechanized hum of another world
Where no sun is shining
No red light flashing
Here in this darkness
I know what I've done
I know all at once who I am

And of course the narrator shot his "old man." Adama, totally Adama.

Now if only I had the skills... why can I not select and edit clips with my mind instead of having to rely on these ridiculous gelatinous orbs and clumsy fingers?
