Solar flares couldn't change your sense of perception the way this must...or rather, solar flares couldn't make our clocks all go faster in time, control the spinning of the earth, or any of the other things we are surrounded by that help us measure time.
I don't know. It's a weird idea. I'm pretty sure no external pressure could make the sun spin faster.
It's weird that you of all people would ask such a thing. God can do what he wants, I says. He just makes it seem like he's not doing a thing.
However, I'm just saying that it could be a symptom of a system we can't really understand, much less observe. Think of the ether- what if time was structured a lot like a universe in itself, dark matter, etc. Hell, clouds of dark matter are passing through our solar system right now and we can't even detect it (or so we believe).
My reason for saying it isn't God is that it could be, but... I like to say God has tools. Your ipod getting stolen isn't God hating you, but a gigantic solar flare could be god's warhammer. I like to think that God controls the cosmos now, and that man has freewill.
