I've found that a good solution to this problem is to bring a book to the gym and read it on the treadmill. It's nerdy but it works.

personally i hate working out at gyms, so i go to the nat and swim. but i have found doing this is good too:
25 sit ups
25 legs lifts (each leg)
15 to 20 push ups

do three sets of each every morning and it helps a bit. thought it takes awhile to see anything change, but it still makes you feel good.
