I think the song to which you are referring is either "Freak" by Silverchair from the album Freak Show or "Freaks" (plural) by Live from the album Secret Samahdi. If I'm not mistaken, both albums were released in 1996 or 1997, but I'm not going to look that up because I was determined to do this one off the top of my head.
