Pilot season!

It kind of sucks a little that I have to move this Saturday, because what I really want to do is watch all the series and season premieres that are coming up.

Here's what I've been able to catch so far:

Last Wednesday:
America's Next Top Model: Cycle 45634 I was only half-watching this while waiting for Gossip Girl to come on. I really can't watch ( Read more... )

Do you know if Adam Baldwin is a regular on Chuck? I caught a glimpse of him at the end of the episode while waiting for Heroes to come on and got SO excited.

I watched Season 1 of HIMYM in, oh, five days while we were out in California. It's fun. I don't have time to watch it live, though (plus I still have Season 2 to watch).

I guess Heroes is my favorite show on the air right now, with Ugly Betty a close second. I can't remember, do you watch that show? I'm trying to decide whether to add new shows or not. Maybe Pushing Daisies.

SPOILER ALERT for Heroes, highlight to see the text:
What do you think is going on with Nathan's face? I couldn't tell whether the burnination was supposed to be real or imagined. I'm going with real, and they're just showing us his normal face because they're lazy. Also, I guess Mohinder is the only person that could possibly infiltrate the company, but STILL, don't they know how stupid he is? He is not exactly smooth double agent guy. SPOILER ALERT, really!

Oh wow, TWoP has a new look! I hate it when websites change their look on me. Makes me feel all discombobulated. But I guess it's nice enough.

Heh, I guess you don't visit TWoP every day like I do. Yeah, the new look is pretty slick -- so far I've still been able to find everything I need, so it's all good.

I'm not sure if Adam Baldwin is a regular on Chuck, but I'm guessing that he is. His character is set up to kind of be an antagonist both to the blonde secret agent chick (didn't catch her name) and to Chuck. He's not a bad guy, per se, but he's a fellow secret agent who disapproves of BSAC's tactics, as well as her sympathy toward Chuck.

I've seen a few episodes of Ugly Betty, but my shameful addiction to Smallville kept me from watching it on Thursday nights. Every crop of new shows always comes with an alarmingly low survival rate, so I pretty much watch anything I come across now, because I know the bulk of them are going to be cancelled in time anyway. Funny that you mention Pushing Daisies, though, because that's the new series that I'm most looking forward to. Did you ever watch WonderfallsI don't know how to spoiler tag text in a comment, so BEWARE EVERYONE ELSE ( ... )

To hide the text I changed the color of the font like so: (font color="#FFFFFF")Text you want to hide(/font color). Except you change the parentheses to these thingies: < >.

I haven't seen Wonderfalls. Is it from the same folks as Pushing Daisies?

I watched Heroes at a friend's apartment, so I caught a few minutes of the new show just before I left. I don't know if you ever watched Charmed. Anyway, my friend and I (to my great shame) immediately recognized the house in Journeyman as being the same house used in the Charmed. Not just the exterior, but the inside as well, same rooms, similar furniture and everything. *Very* disorienting. I guess they've probably recycled houses before, but the Charmed mansion is *so* distinctive, it's hard not to notice.

Ugly Betty is really good. I highly recommend it.

Had Chuck on in the background, didn't really pay any attention until the last 10 minutes or so when stuff actually started happening. Might watch again, but it didn't really catch my attention enough to watch consistently.

HAD to watch Journeyman because of Kevin McKidd! I really enjoyed it. It had twists and what could be an interesting complicated dynamic between characters (he married his brother's ex-girlfriend?!). Livia showing up like that makes me think we're likely to get some explanation as to why this suddenly started happening to him.

I'm unashamed to say I'm excited for Smallville. But more than that, I can't wait for Supernatural!

I don't know who Kevin McKidd is, but he looks like Anthony Michael Hall from The Dead Zone. Who looks nothing like Anthony Michael Hall from The Breakfast Club. (They're the same guy.)

I know Supernatural is the superior show; I just never had the time to get into it.

Kevin McKidd was in Rome.

You think Watchmen is the right comic book reference for Heroes? The blow-up-New-York-to-scare-humanity-straight thing is there, of course.I had been going with Totally Not The X-Men, personally.

Especially after the Totally Not Days of Future Past episode. (Which I totally loved.)(Prediction for Season 3: Totally Not the Dark Phoenix Saga.)

Okay so I JUST got internet at my apartment the other day (long story) so I'm finally able to catch up on my telly (did I mention we don't have cable?) ...although I was doing great on my studying before. So I've decided I'll have to weed out the shows and only watch the top notch stuff. I actually had a friend of mine describe the first two eps of Heroes to me before I had internet, and then went to go watch them later, and found that I didn't learn anything new by watching them! So I think I'll just go the verbal-recap route until a big sweeps week ep or whatnot. Heh. Comedies can't be recapped so I may be limiting myself to viewings of The Office, and HIMYM, *if* they're online. I'm on the last disc of the first season, btw!! It's great finally getting the backstory! And sheesh, who knew it was SUCH a sappy show. It's almost melodrama by the end of the first season ( ... )

Dude, I think you should keep watching Heroes. Of course you didn't learn anything new from watching the episodes that were already described to you. But I'm completely unspoiled and each episode has such great moments (everything Claire), hotness (hello Mohinder and shirtless Peter) and also genuine surprises (Kensei... is a gaijin... and can heal?!). Try an episode without a verbal recap and see if you get a better feeling.

And sheesh, who knew it was SUCH a sappy show. It's almost melodrama by the end of the first season.

Are you talking about The Office or HIMYM? Because I definitely agree with the former; I don't know if you've watched the current season, but I am SO OVER Jim and Pam. Seriously. I want to watch The Office, not an awkward romantic comedy without a laugh track. HIMYM, on the other hand, is nigh perfection. There are occasionally real emotional moments (usually between Ted/Robin) but those are quickly undercut by humor again (usually Barney ( ... )
