"Ok, Buffy. This is SUPER important to me. So... when Xander gets down here... PLEEEEASE don't let him do or say anything to embarrass Mari? He's new to this country, and doesn't totally understand the language yet, but he's learning!"
Dawn was starting to ramble, and her eyes were comically animated.
Xander knocked on the front door, feeling distracted. He hadn't found the locket yet. It wasn;t in the parkinglot of the Sunset, or anywhere near the Bronze. He was missing something, he knew.
Mari arrived a short time later, trying not to look as nervous as he felt. He hoped that Dawn's family would approve of him.
With a tentative hand, he reached out and knocked on the door. While he waited for them to answer, he shifted the package of roses he'd brought for Dawn. He hoped that she wasn't allergic to flowers or anything- a momentary panic seized him at that thought.
Dawn squeaked as she heard the knock. She quickly ran over, giving Buffy and Xander one last pleading look, whispered "Please... he actually makes me HAPPY.", and opened the door, a big almost Joker-esque smile on her face.

She frowned a little, and looked towards where Xander should be.

"Hi Mari! Come on in!"

He stepped inside the Summers house, and nodded politely to the people he assumed were Dawn's sister and her boyfriend. "Hello..."
