"Well, if it matters? Any demon ever tries to hurt you again? It's gonna have to go through ME first."

Satsu took a moment to study Pru's face. Not to gaze at her, or anything romantic... just to see what emotions lie within.

"And... I'm really sorry you had such a hard life. Granted, I wasn't on the verge of being sacrificed to a demon, but my family was really hard on me too. So, I know what it's like."

Prudence was grateful for her offer of support. "Thank you," she said. "When I found out what they were planning, I ran to my friend Warren's place - he let me hide in the basement of his gaming store. It's very secure down there. He and Gwen and their super hero team went to go take care of the corn demon... but in the process, they burned down the fields. The entire compound vacated the area and moved away somewhere... my whole family went with them."

On the one hand, they had gone along with the plan to marry her to the corn demon. On the other hand, they were her family- so it still made her somewhat sad that they were gone. "What are your folks like?" she asked Satsu.

"My parents are very... serious. Very strict. Also very proud. They were told a few years ago that I was a potential, and it's a good thing I was ok with it, because they were so proud of it that they forced me to train with my Watcher for 6 hours a day. Every day."

She shrugged, smiling lightly.

"But I didn't resent them. They're hard people, but I know they love me. I'm only here because a Servator here contacted my Watcher about transferring me here. Something about being able to help around here, plus wanting me to help get another potential more... into her role."

"Wow, that's a lot of training," Prudence said. "But that's nice that they want the best for you."

She patted Satsu's hand. "So how do you like it here so far?"
