Gil held up his bracelet for inspection, then waited until he was given the go-ahead to go in. Once inside, he scanned around for familiar faces, spotting Tina at the bar. He made his way over and sat, waving. "Yo!"
Gil nodded, frowning. "Well, just never grow up, then. And I'll take your word about the farm -- the closest I got was feeding a cow at the zoo. That was cool, though." He concentrated on picking out foods.
"I think my mom was hoping she'd get to do all the momentous stuff. You know, making us take pictures and crap. I tried to tell her that it wasn't really like Homecoming, but I'm not sure if she believed me. Also, I wasn't sure if you were even gonna be here, but I'd rather hang out here by myself than go to Homecoming alone." Gil saw an opportunity and seized it, resting his head on Kayla's shoulder. Having one ear shielded from the music was a start, anyway.

Once she'd collected a plate of food, she settled back down. "This music's pretty good, too."
