Xavier rarely paid a visit to the Magic Box, but they did carry a large number of materials useful in his ritual practices, including some that that were otherwise difficult to acquire. To survive within the modern age, one must accept the help of others.
"Good afternoon," he politely said to the Chinese boy behind the counter. "I need a few things. Would you mind helping me find them?"
Xavier paused a moment - he knew the Chumash words, but most places required a translation. "Momoy, sagebrush, mugwort, and white sage, purified, properly gathered, and dried. At least one pound each, preferably more."

"How are you today?" he asked while he worked, practicing his polite English pleasantries.
