A cheerful blonde came over, and sat at the table. Mandy waved, then started eating her lunch, very neatly and carefully.

Jimmy smiled at the girl sitting at his table.

"I swear, you're the bravest person here."

"Hello!" said Mandy "It's nice to meet you! I'm Mandy Smith!" she held her hand out, for a hand shake. "Why am I so brave?"

Jimmy leaned forward and shook Mandy's hand.

"I dunno, it just seems like everyone is kind of afraid of me. Not that I mind, because it keeps the annoying people far, far away."

He settled back in his chair.

"My name's Jimmy. If you can't guess, I'm new here."

Kayla headed in to the lunch room, and took a look around for a good place to sit. Seeing a couple of friendly looking girls sitting with a guy in a band shirt, she figured that might be a good place to start.

"Um... hey," she said a bit nervously, holding on to her tray. "Y'all got room for one more here?"

"Anything to further increase the female to male ratio is good with me," Jimmy said with a smile.

".. thanks," Kayla said, and settled at the table. "I'm Kayla by the way - I'm new this year, so I don't know a lot of folks to sit with."

She gave her tablemates a friendly smile. "Thanks for letting me sit here."
