I had a big adjustment to my braces this morning. It hurts. Except when I nuzzle faces with Val. Whenever I hold him in my arms or lap, he lifts his head up for me to put my chin or face against it. Aren't cats wonderful? (and don't braces suck?) Cats are one of the profoundest blessings in my life. Yay for Val-ium for today's pain!

Yeah, braces suck. If I hadn't avoided the dentist for so many years I wouldn't be in this fix. In November, when I hit 3 years (after he originally said it would take a year to a year and a half!), I asked him how much longer. I said they had to be off by May, because I was a going on a cruise with my kids. He said oh yes, no problem, they'll definitely be off by then. Probably January or February ( ... )
